Last year, the Wetaskiwin Hockey Academy launched a Learn To Skate pilot program at Parkdale School. Grade 3-4 students participated in 5 - 50 minute ice sessions, focusing on the development of FUNdamental skating skills including agility-balance-coordination, edge control, starting-stopping and turning. WHA provided skates and helmets for students which helped introduce many students to skating for the first time. Other students used on-ice activities to build confidence and further their skating skills in a fun and positive environment.
Students at QES will begin this program on Monday, February 24, 2025. Permission Forms were made available on PowerSchool.
